Blog #5

These poems are different from the poems we read in weeks one & two for a few reasons. One reason these poems are different is because they are more serious and have a literal meaning to them. The poems from the first two weeks are more humorous and more about being able to understand what the writer is trying to say, rather than in literal form. The more recent poems are about the way one person lives and how he/she deals with it. The poem I choose to write about is "Chicken Bucket". This was a different type of poem because it was the most serious. The characteristics that describe the speaker is lost and confused. It seems as though she says she wants to be her own person, but doesn't really know who that is. She started being rebellious at an early age and that was her way of figuring herself out. I would say this is reality because that's the way some kids start out. After putting themselves through so much, they eventually find out who they are meant to be.
