Blog #4
The main idea of Chilton's essay is that one person can not take all the blame for everyone's actions. She is saying that the Mexicans can not be blamed for the whole world's drug use. The blame should be placed on every government, drug cartels, drug users and other things. The cartoon is offensive in some ways. For example, the pinata, being used to represent the government, is offensive because it is used for a game for children. Not to mention the use of the Mexican in the cartoon also being offensive. I do agree with Chilton's argument because it is true that not only one person can be blamed for this. Society as a whole should take the blame for the use of drugs and start cracking down. This problem needs to be solved in a different, more effective way than blaming one minority for everyone's problems.
